He began skiing at the age of five, with his grandfather Umberto – who represents the first of three generations united by this passion – supporting and guiding him from the very start. Umberto took him to watch the races of his father Graziano, world champion in the team event at Serre Chevalier 2002. As he grew up, he started competing himself, quickly showing the traits of a champion.
A three-time overall World Cup winner, in September 2021 he married fellow ski mountaineer Alba De Silvestro. Together, they won bronze in the mixed relay at the 2022 European Championships in Spain. He knows no rest even in summer, when he fine-tunes his preparation through running and cycling and also competes in numerous trail running races. A lover of nature and animals, he has already built a stable for his future and hopes to remain involved in skiing to support younger athletes. For now, however, his full focus is on his Olympic debut at the Milano Cortina Games.
