A graduate of the Agricultural Institute in Vercelli, he came to skeleton almost by chance after years in athletics (400 metres). The turning point was a trial session proposed to him in the summer of 2018 and the encouraging push-start tests that followed, launching him into a completely new world. The first Italian ever to step onto a World Championship podium (silver in St. Moritz in January 2023) and to win a World Cup race (less than a year later, once again on the Swiss track), he quickly earned widespread recognition. He loves travelling and seaside holidays, and has a particular fondness for music and for panissa vercellese. Eleventh on his Olympic debut at Beijing 2022, he wants to savour his second Games to the full, knowing he has nothing less than the very best in the world.
