As a child, he practised cross-country skiing with his father before joining Ski Club Gardena, where he began taking part in his first competitions. At the age of ten, watching the ski jumps, he decided to try ski jumping and coach Romed Moroder suggested he attempt the Nordic combined path, which immediately became his passion.
He grew up idolising Frenchman Jason Lamy-Chappuis and current teammate Alessandro Pittin, who at Vancouver 2010 delivered Italy’s first-ever Olympic medal in the discipline. His record includes seven podium finishes in the Alpen Cup, a circuit in which he topped the overall standings in the 2016/2017 season.
In that same season, he competed at the Lillehammer Youth Olympic Games, while in 2019 he made a positive World Championship debut, narrowly missing the top ten in the Gundersen LH and finishing fifth in the team sprint. Eight years after his Olympic debut at the PyeongChang Games, he is more motivated than ever to reclaim what belongs to him: the five-ring stage.
