Biography

Brother of Evelyn Insam and cousin of Armin Bauer—both former Italian internationals in ski jumping and Nordic combined respectively—he played ice hockey as a teenager before being drawn to the emotions of the hill. He began his path at 14, when his first mentor Romed Moroder pointed him towards success, inviting him to enrol at the Schigymnasium Stams in Tyrol to train alongside foreign peers.

Junior world silver medallist on the normal hill in Park City in February 2017, just over a month later he became the first Italian ever to fly beyond 230 metres, breaking the previous national record set by Sebastian Colloredo. In October 2024, he impressed at the Summer Grand Prix, finishing fourth—missing the podium by a single point. When he is not focused on competition, he enjoys skating, ski mountaineering and, in summer, riding the waves on his surfboard—always with his closest friends. Milano Cortina is waiting for him to fly even higher.
