He was born in Rome, now lives in Sesto San Giovanni and trains in Bergamo. He grew up with the dream of breaking into the top ten at the World Championships and competing at the Olympic Games. In 2018, after fulfilling his aim of skating at a five-ring tournament, he won junior World bronze in Sofia, only the second medal ever for Italy after the bronze won by Carlo Fassi at senior level in 1953. In 2019 he claimed the Universiade title, as well as European bronze. His European record also features two silvers (2023–2026) and another bronze (2024).
His staff includes his father Valter who, like his mother Brumilde Bianchi, is a coach. The duo are also a former ice dance pair. Skates are his inseparable travel companions, but in life he is also happily interested in football, tennis and Formula 1. Few can say they have worn an Olympic medal at a home Games: he has worked hard for years to become one of them.
