He learned how to move on ice under the guidance of his father Roberto, a five-time world medallist in speed skating (including the jewel of gold in Calgary 1992). Like his older sister Arianna—also part of the national short track team—he chose the thrill of the short track, extending the feats of a family dynasty. After winning two junior world bronzes in Montréal 2019 (500 m and 1,500 m), he immediately showed that his DNA is made for making the difference.
His first Olympic joys arrived already at his Beijing 2022 debut, where he won silver and bronze respectively with the mixed relay and the men’s relay. Over the years he has established himself as one of the men to beat in the 500 m, the event in which he claimed the world title in 2023 and the European title in both 2023 and 2024. Likeable and full of energy, he loves food and motorsport, but his greatest passion is sport—especially skiing in winter and cycling in summer. Always in search of perfection, he thrives on big races in front of large crowds. Destined.
