Biography

He first discovered biathlon on television and was immediately captivated by the sport’s spectacle. He started with cross-country skiing, following the example of his father Fabio, but soon switched focus to this new horizon. A standout at youth level, he has refined his shooting significantly over the years, becoming an increasingly serious threat to the biggest names on the World Cup circuit.

In 2025, he enjoyed a dream season with five consecutive podium finishes, including his first career victory in the mass start in Ruhpolding. In mid-February, he also won silver in the 20 km individual at the World Championships in Lenzerheide, bringing an Italian back onto the podium in that discipline 32 years after Andreas Zingerle (gold at Borovets 1993). Present and future of Italian biathlon, he is not going to Milano Cortina simply to take part—he is going there to hunt medals.
