He began with horse riding and athletics, but at the age of 11 attended the figure skating competitions at Turin 2006 and became determined to try it. Initially his mother was hesitant, but he eventually convinced her—and never took off those skates again. Early in his career he skated with Bianca Manacorda, achieving, among other results, second place at the 2014 Lombardia Trophy and 12th at the 2016 European Championships.
From the 2019/2020 season he partnered Sara Conti, who was seeking change after years as a singles skater. Their partnership peaked in 2023, when they became the first Italian pair to win European gold and reach the World Championship podium. 2025 was equally rich in success, with continental silver, another world bronze and the historic third place with Italy at the World Team Trophy. Born in Milan, his Olympic debut on home ice carries an even more special meaning.
