Biography

He first took the controls of a bobsleigh at just 16, having previously dedicated himself to skiing. Yet it was only when hurtling down the ice track that he truly discovered the thrill — the whistle of the air and the force of the curves. In his spare time he follows Formula 1, keeps up his skiing, or plays ice hockey with friends. Summer brings a change of pace, with days on the lake, trekking and time spent outdoors. His breakthrough came with gold in the two-man event at the Innsbruck 2012 Youth Olympic Games. A decade later he made his senior Olympic debut in Beijing, fulfilling a long-held dream. Along the way he also captured the 2019 European junior title in Innsbruck, this time in the four-man sled. Recent seasons have marked significant progress, particularly on the World Cup circuit. In November 2023 he finished runner-up in Yanqing, putting Italy back on the four-man World Cup podium for the first time in 17 years. Podium finish also secured in November 2025 with third place on the Igls track. Now, with Milano-Cortina looming, he is determined to leave nothing to chance as he pursues ambitious goals — inspired by that first taste of glory as a teenager at the YOG.
