As a child he spent a few years in artistic gymnastics before convincing his parents to sign him up for football (under-11s). He has a visceral love for Tuscany and, around the age of 14, moved with his family to Peccioli, in the province of Pisa. After stints in swimming, judo and rowing, in secondary school he specialised in hammer throw, standing out first for CUS Pavia and then Atletica Livorno, collecting several junior-level successes. Bobsleigh entered his life thanks to a phone call from Giovanni Mulassano, now part of the federation’s technical staff, opening the door to a new adventure. A member of the Olympic expedition to Beijing 2022, he began the new quadrennium with encouraging results and, in November 2023, was part of the Italian four-man sled that returned to the World Cup podium after 17 years (second place on the Yanqing track). He also holds a degree in Political Science and, in his spare time, recharges by the sea with friends. Milano Cortina is another astonishing dream coming true.
