Biography

An eternal champion, longevity in the service of class. Snow is his natural habitat, the extension of his passions. Born with a board under his feet in Val di Funes, snowboarding immediately became his passion. He was nine when his sister lent him equipment and he began to have fun, driven by the desire to follow in the footsteps of future coach Erich Pramsohler. He has class to spare and his talent is timeless. In the Olympic discipline of PGS he owns 15 individual World Cup victories (three collected in 2025/2026 at Carezza, Scuol and Simonhöhe) and four World Championship medals. Unforgettable was the gold won at the age of 44 at the end of March 2025 on the snow of Engadin, making him the oldest world champion in history. Between 2019 and 2023 he won one overall Crystal Globe and three discipline globes.

From 14 to 20 he worked as a carpenter and, whenever possible, he frequented the Sellaronda area because he is a big fan of ski mountaineering and cycling. His idols are Reinhold Messner, Michael Schumacher and Felix Baumgartner and, at Milano Cortina—his seventh consecutive Olympics (the Italian with the most appearances in Winter Games history)—he wants to make history by winning what has so far always eluded him: an Olympic medal.
