The younger brother of Hans Peter and cousin of Kevin Fischnaller, luge is very much a family affair. European champion in the men’s singles at Lillehammer 2020, his career highlights also include bronze at the 2017 World Championships in Austria and, above all, the Olympic bronze medal won at the Beijing 2022 Games – a long-awaited breakthrough on the Olympic stage that marked a defining moment in his career.
At the end of February 2023, twelve years after the last of the ten World Cup titles won by his idol and mentor Armin Zoeggeler, he brought the overall World Cup back to Italy after a winter spent as a true protagonist. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football, skiing or relaxing at the cinema. Milano Cortina 2026 will be his fourth Olympic appearance – the perfect number to attempt the achievement of a lifetime.
