He has loved racing down icy tracks on a luge since a very young age and has always represented Italy in both singles and doubles. He already carries the Olympic rings for life thanks to the historic gold medal – the first ever for Italy – won at the 2012 Youth Olympic Games in Austria in doubles alongside Florian Gruber.
At junior level, he also won gold in the team event at the 2013 Junior World Championships in Park City and, again in doubles, secured the World Cup title in the 2013/2014 season. Since 2018/2019, his partner has been Emanuel Rieder, with whom he has collected a world silver medal in the doubles sprint in Sochi 2020 and two European bronzes in the team relay (Sigulda 2023 and Igls-Innsbruck 2024).
A true mountain enthusiast, he enjoys climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking, paragliding and trekking. After finishing just off the podium at Beijing 2022, Milano Cortina offers him another chance to roar on the Olympic stage for the first time among the senior elite.
