Biography

Originally from Borgo San Dalmazzo, in the province of Cuneo, his parents put a pair of skis on his feet when he was just three. At the same time, he began flying on a mountain bike and, fascinated by shooting, also took up biathlon—the discipline chosen by his younger brother Michele—but in the end he opted for cross-country skiing because of the fewer unknowns and the way a race can be managed. In February 2025 he came to prominence at the U23 World Championships in Schilpario, taking bronze in the 10 km freestyle, as well as winning silver with his teammates in the mixed 4x5 km relay. A few days later he flew to Trondheim to compete in his first senior World Championships, where among other things he broke into the top 30 in the freestyle mass start.

His point of reference is Swedish speed skater Nils van der Poel and in his free time his main hobbies are trekking, hiking and mountain running. Making his Olympic debut on home snow makes no difference to someone like him: his expectations are always sky-high.
