He began writing the first pages of his competitive story at around six years old on the frozen lake of Baselga di Piné. Little Andrea had fun but struggled to find balance, so his parents enrolled him with the local club—and he fell in love with skating. He grew up idolising Enrico Fabris: in 2013 came his breakthrough, with two golds, one silver and one bronze at the Junior World Championships. At senior level, he shone with world titles won at Calgary 2024 (team pursuit) and Hamar 2025 (mass start).
Strategy and tactical intelligence have, over the years, made him one of the masters of the mass-start format, in which he also owns European silver from Kolomna 2018 and two consecutive World Cup titles between 2024 and 2025. Family has played a decisive role in his growth: a surveyor with a passion for literature and philosophy, he loves spending his free time with friends, cycling or enjoying a good book. He approaches the home Olympics in pursuit of new horizons—hoping to apply the most special seal of all.
