Olympic Club Athlete
The start of his competitive career was on inline skates: he has been racing since the age of seven, but only switched to ice in 2013. The chance to pursue the Olympic dream—also inspired by the feats of a speed skating icon such as Enrico Fabris at Turin 2006—pushed and motivated him to make the change, transferring his passion to a new discipline. Bronze medallist in the 10,000 m at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, in January 2025 he produced a sensational time of 12:25.692 at the Calgary World Cup, taking the world record from Sweden’s Nils van der Poel. Over the same distance, he went on to win three consecutive world titles between 2023 and 2025. In his free time he enjoys reading and watching films, and is also a keen road-cycling fan. For someone like him, pushing far beyond limits is almost physiological. He sees Milano Cortina as a turning point—the perfect moment to reach the peak of his journey in the discipline he has always loved.
