He inherited his passion from his parents: his father Salvatore (speed skating) and his mother Fiorella (figure skating) are both former skaters. He too began on inline skates with a team in Ladispoli, a prelude to his switch to ice. For love of the long track, he lives a double life: during the week he attends school, and at weekends he takes a FlixBus from Rome’s Tiburtina Station—after six to seven hours of travel—to Noale in Veneto, then moves with his teammates to Baselga di Piné for training.
A close friend of veteran Francesca Lollobrigida, the other Lazio skater in the national team, his sporting idol is Dutch cyclist Mathieu van der Poel, and one of his hobbies is fishing. His favourite event is the 1,500 m, in which he dreams of replicating the feats of Italian Olympic champion Enrico Fabris, but his most prestigious results have come in the mass start, where he has three World Cup podiums and narrowly missed the top three at the Heerenveen 2024 European Championships. A fine calling card ahead of Italy’s Milano Cortina Games.
