He was born two months early because he has been in a hurry since birth. He has been on skis since he was three and he was the smallest of them all, so much so that even when he won he was only as tall as the other children on the lowest steps of the podium. Then he grew, but the desire to win remained intact, so much so that in 2017 he finished runner-up in the Kitzbühel super-G despite a fractured fibula. Second and third at Sochi 2014 in downhill and super-combined respectively, he also owns a World Championship super-G title, a super-combined silver and a downhill bronze won at Garmisch 2011.
Despite being over 40 and having many injuries behind him, he never loses the desire to race down the slopes in pursuit of new targets. A fan of trekking, cycling, fishing and mushroom foraging, he is also attracted by the stock market. And he still has a great desire to invest in himself ahead of his fifth consecutive Olympic participation.
