Her love for alpine skiing is carved into her genetic code and has always been shared with her sister Irene. It could hardly be otherwise, given that her father Massimo is both ski instructor and coach—the one who showed them the path to leaving their mark on snow. After a brief spell in swimming (one of her idols is Federica Pellegrini), she devoted herself fully to the slopes and, in 2011, won the junior world title in super-G in Crans-Montana.
Fifth (again in super-G) at the senior World Championships in St Moritz 2017, after a series of physical setbacks her best season came in 2022, when she claimed two of her current three World Cup victories (Cortina d’Ampezzo super-G and St Moritz downhill), finished second in the super-G standings, and narrowly missed the Olympic downhill podium at Beijing 2022 (fifth). Her outlets are trips to Italy’s and the world’s great art cities, and above all painting and drawing—she is a passionate admirer of Amedeo Modigliani and Egon Schiele. Her next masterpieces, she hopes, will be created on the Olympic snow of the Olympia delle Tofane.
