Biography

Born and raised supporting Bolzano, the team from his city, he was formed hockey-wise with EV Bozen and then through two years spent in the United States. In the 2012/2013 season, “Johnny” made his Serie A debut with Fassa. He then played again for EV Bozen, Appiano and Gherdëina and in 2016 moved into the AlpsHL, as well as into the Blue Team set-up, with which he faced two Top Division World Championships (2017 and 2019). He later moved to Vipiteno, a prelude to another change of direction, this time towards Asiago. Over four seasons with the “Stellati” he won two Scudetti, two Italian Supercoppe and one AlpsHL title, always showing great reliability between the posts and excellent percentages. In 2023/2024 he returned to Bolzano, further improving his performances.

Married to Debora Vivarelli, a veteran of the women’s national table tennis team who, like him, is part of the Italia Team at the Summer Olympics of Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, he fulfils the dream of competing for the first time in his career at a five-ring event.
