Developed in the youth systems of Hockey Como and Real Torino HC, at the age of 16 he moved to Switzerland to play junior hockey with Chiasso and Lugano. After becoming captain of the Elite team, in March 2015—at the end of a convincing season—he was promoted to the first team, launching his decade-long journey with the historic Ticino club. He has a twin brother named Paolo, a former professional player and now assistant coach at Lugano. He also worked hard academically and graduated with top marks in Economics (Banking and Finance) at the Università della Svizzera Italiana, later completing his Master’s degree as well.
He has built significant experience with the national team, with three World Championship appearances to his name—one in Division I (Group A) and two in the Top Division. He was part of the Italian team that failed to qualify for the Olympics at both PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022, but now, with some physical issues resolved, he is targeting Milano Cortina to reclaim his place in the Blue Team attack.
